"P.M.C. Poloists Win Opener in Baltimore"
The PMC polo team defeated the 110th Field Artillery of Baltimore by the score 26-4 on December 15, 1928 in their season opener. Team: William Nicholls; Albert Montrezza; Jack Pickering; Dan Jones; Jack Smith.
"P.M.C. on the Air"
A half-hour radio program entitled "A Day at P.M.C." was broadcast from Station WFI at the Strawbridge & Clothier Store in Philadelphia. Colonel Hyatt was the announcer. Robinson's Military Band of Wilmington, DE provided the music. Mrs. Frank K. Hyatt sang.
"Col. Davis, Class of '97, Dies in California; Distinguished Career in the United States Marine Corps"
Colonel Henry C. Davis, class of 1897, died on December 21, 1928 at Coronado, CA of heart failure following an attack of acute indigestion. Major Thomas S. Clarke, Assistant Adjutant and Inspector of the United States Marine Corps provided a summary of Davis' career that is reprinted in the article.
"Day of Prayer"
PMC celebrated the annual Day of Prayer for Schools and Colleges on January 31, 1929. Rev. William A. Dean of Aldan, PA addressed the cadets.
"Cadet Five Wins From Optometry"
The PMC basketball team defeated the Pennsylvania State College of Optometry by the score 51-20 on January 23, 1929. Team: Shaw, Brennan, Miller, Brown.
"What Our Grads Are Doing"
Walter L. Koethen, class fo 1887, has retired at Riverside, CA after a business career. He was associated with the Riverside Abstract and Guaranty Company.
Clarence E. Myers, class of 1909, is Director of the Department of City Transit for the city of Philadelphia. He previously worked with the Pennsylvania State Highway Department. During World War I, he served as a Major of United States Engineers in the U.S. and in France. He is a member of several societies.
Fred W. Reisert, class of 1908, is a surveyor and engineer with Fidelity Union Title and Mortgage Company at New Brunswick, NJ. He has also worked with the Pennsylvania State Highway Department. He was assistant engineer and secretary of the Tice Engineering Corporation of New Brunswick, NJ and became borough engineer of Metuchen, NJ in 1919.
William T. Woodhouse, class of 1922, is assistant engineer of Woodhouse Chain Works at Trenton, NJ and treasurer of Naceskid Service Chain Company.
James Wilson Furness, class of 1895, is a mining engineer with the Bureau of Mines, Minerals-Metals Division, Economics Branch, Department of Commerce. He has several memberships in associations.
A. Carson Simpson, class of 1916, is with the Brown and Williams law firm of Philadelpha. He was appointed Assistant City Solicitor of Philadelphia in 1926 through 1927. He is now Professor of Common Law in the Law School of Temple University.
Moderwell K. Salen, class of 1923, is secretary of the firm Kelley,Converse & Company, Philadelphia investment bankers.
J. Henry Pool, class of 1921, is involved in insurant brokerage at Wilkes-Barre, PA. He had an apprenticeship with Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York.
Harry C. Fry, Jr. Class of 1885, is president of Logue Brothers & Company, Inc. of Pittsburgh and vice-president of Fry Equipment Corporation at Rochester, PA.
Richard W. Nelms, class of 1904, is a dealer in worsted knitting yarns in Philadelphia.
Maximillan H. Leister, class of 1908, is advertising and sales manager of the motor oil and gasoline department of Sun Oil Company in Philadelphia. He has also worked with the Pompeian Manufacturing Company of Cleveland, OH.
Philip M. Sweeney, class of 1920, works with the Sweeney & Lukens real estate firm in Chester.
Samuel J. Allen, class of 1926, is studying at Princeton Theological Seminary.
Joseph G. Shyrock, class of 1900, is Chief Engineer, Director, and Vice-President of Belmont Iron Works.
Sherwyn L. Davis, class of 1926, works in sales at the Tide Water Oil Company of Philadelphia. Previously he worked in the office of the Philadelphia Rapid Transit Air Service at Washington, D.C.
Alfred d. Buono, class of 1926, is athletic director of the Chester public schools and teaches ancient history at Chester High School.
A.F. Amodio, class of 1914, is an architect and engineer at Atlantic City, NJ. A list of buildings that he has worked on is included.
Eugene W. Letts, class of 1923, and his father have a cattle raising business at Clarendon, TX.
John Howard Winneberger, class of 1917, is Chief Engineer and Estimator of the J.B. Klein Iron & Foundry Company at Oklahoma City, OK.
Frank J. Matty, class of 1905, works with the New York State Department of Public Works, Bureau of Highways.
Theodore H. Cowee, class of 1920, works with W.J. Cowee, Inc. at Berlin, NY.
Alvin M. Burt, class of 1926, is with the T.J. Purdy Construction Company at Bridgeport, CN.
Edwin V. Wintermote, class of 1922, works in the cost department of the Puget Sound Lumber Company of Tacoma, WA. He was also treasurer of the Tide Water Company of Tacoma previously.
Walter Radcliffe Kirk, class of 1892, is director of James S. Kirk & Company at Chicago, IL.

The PMC basketball team defeated Hahnemann Medical College by the score 23-20 on January 26, 1929. Team: Brennan, Shaw, Miller
The PMC freshman basketball team defeated Third Presbyterian Church of Chester by the score 26-23 on January 26, 1929 in a preliminary game. Team: "Goe" Smith.
"P.M.C. Goes on the Air Again"
The PMC radio program will be repeated on Station WFI, the Strawbridge and Clothier Store of Philadelphia, on February 23, 1929.
"Coach Eltz Selects College Gym Team"
Coach Eltz selected the following cadet gymnastics team: Charles W. Bauer; L.A. Hilles; F.K. Ettinger; Robert J. Germane; George Lifshetz; Robert C. Stephenson; Lin Scarlett; Wallace Zeller; Henry R. White; Winthrop W. White; Brooke M. Lessig; Robert Buermann, Jr.; Dale E. Kester; Rupert J. Welliver; William A. Haller, Jr.; Jack Surut; Joseph L. Clark; Charles J. Clark; William Challenger, Jr.; Harry S. Buzby; Leon H. Aguirre. A March gym exhibition is planned.
"Cadet Poloists Defeated By New York Malletmen"
The PMC polo team lost to Squadron A of New York by the score 7-1/2 to 6-1/2 on January 19, 1929. Team: Charlie Bower.
The PMC Third polo team lost to the Philadelphia Ramblers by the score 7-3 on January 19, 1929.
"Cadet Poloists Lose Two Games to West Point"
The PMC polo team lost to West Point by the score 15-5 on January 26, 1929. Team: Dan Jones.
The PMC Junior varsity polo team also lost to the West Point junior varsity by the score 6-3 on January 26, 1929. Team: Redmond.
"P.M.C. Social Club"
Members of the junior and senior class have formed the PMC Social Club in order to promote sociability and college spirit. The headquarters will be in Alumni Lodge.
"Obituary"
Major William J. Pardee, class of 1879, died recently at Pasadena, CA from a paralytic stroke. He had a distinguished army career. He was buried at Oswego, NY.
Wainwright Ripley, class of 1892, of Newark, NJ, recently died. His son Willaim A. Ripley, graduated from PMC in 1926.
Mrs. Maud Shirley, mother of Cadet William Shirley, died recently at Baltimore, MD.
Alan Riddle, an ex-cadet from 1922-1925, died recently at Atlantic City, NJ.
"Fine Sportsmanship"
D.J. Randall, Jr., chairman of the Squadron A polo team, notified Colonel Frank K. Hyatt that the team has not accepted its 7-1/2 to 6-1/2 victory over PMC on January 19, 1929, instead recording the game as a 6-1/2 to 6-1/2 tie. They believe that the referee falsely credited them with a goal.
"P.M.C. in 'Talkie Movies'"
The Pathe people selected PMC as the location for filming and recording the first sound picture of a military college parade. The picture was completed on January 21, 1929. General Charles E. Hyatt made an address that is included in the film.
