"Day of Prayer"
PMC took part In the Annual Day of Prayer for Schools and Colleges on January 29, 1925. Rev. Dr. Walter B. Geenway, pastor of Bethany Temple in Philadelphia, was the principle speaker. Rev. Dr. Gladstone Holm, PMC's Methodist chaplain, conducted the exercises and singing. PMC has celebrated the Day of Prayer since 1867.
"Inspection"
Major Allan C. McBride, officer in charge of ROTC affairs from Baltimore, MD, inspected the college in the fall and expressed satisfaction.
"P.M.C. vs. Yale"
The PMC polo team played two games against Yale, winning one. On February 6, 1925, PMC defeated Yale University by a score of 10-4. PMC lost to Yale on February 7, 1925 by a score of 13 to 5-1/2. The article quotes from the _Philadelphia Evening Bulletin_. Team: Newton Wyman, Burt,Putt.
"Sophomore Hop"
The Sophomore class had a hop on February 6, 1925. Madden's orchestra of Wilmington, DE entertained. Patronesses: Mrs. Joseph H. Hinkson, Mrs. Silas G. Comfort, Mrs. Frank K. Hyatt. Student committee: George Shaw, Jr. (class president), Robert R. Pohl, Thomas Stackhouse, James T. Whitehurst.
"The Real Purposes of P.M.C."
The article strives to disprove the common misconception that PMC only prepares cadets for military life; in fact, many enter civil professions upon graduation. PMC patterns its educational system after West Point. The West Point system is described along with Dr. J.H. Findley's evaluation of that system.
"Indoor Athletics"
PMC indoor athletics are being led by Louis R. Spealler, Jr., of the Philadelphia Turngemeinde gym team. The Turngemeinde have performed annually for many years at PMC's indoor athletic exhibitions. Spealler is preparing the team for the March exhibition.
"Cadet Poloists Win"
The PMC polo team defeated Troop A, of the 103d Armory in Philadelphia, by a score of 8-2 on January 10, 1925. Team: Wyman, Burt, Putt, Wilson, Whitehurst, Jones.
"Technical Essays"
The Senior class read technical essays in December, 1924. Participants: John C. Knoeppel, William B. Flora, William J. Eckles, Samuel B. Ward, William Van R. Smith, Charles W. Law, David E. King, Seymour J. Dexter, Sylvan S. Ochser.
"Cadets Lose to St. Joseph's in Second Game"
The PMC basketball team lost to St. Joseph's College by a score of 36-29 on February 5, 1925. Team: Elliot, Buono, Kreig, Riley, Allen.
"Board Meeting"
The semi-annual board meeting was held on February 5, 1925 at the Bellevue Stratford Hotel in Philadelphia. Justice Alexander Simpson, of the State Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, and John W. Simmons, Esquire, class of 1887, were both elected trustees. General Hyatt spoke of the lax living standards among current youth. The board, including General Sweeney, class of 1876, agreed that the PMC system of life was most important at this time in history.
"P.M.C. Flays Drexel Institute"
The PMC basketball team defeated Drexel Institute by a score of 33-31 on January 24, 1925. Team: Buono, Farrington, Kreig, Riley, Allen.
"Cadets Swamp St. Francis' College"
The PMC basketball team defeated St. Francis College by a score of 45-27 on January 17, 1925. Team: Reichelderfer, Buono, Kreig, Allen, Magner.
"P.M.C. vs. Juniata"
The PMC basketball team defeated Juniata College by a score of39-35 on January 30, 1925. Team: Buono, Elliot, Kreig, Allen, Riley.
"Cadets Win Fast Polo Contest"
The PMC polo team defeated Philmont Country Club by a score of 10-4 on January 21, 1925 at the 103rd Armory in Philadelphia. Team: Burt, Wyman, Putt.
"St. Joseph Beats Cadet Cagemen"
The PMC basketball team lost to St. Joseph's College by a score of 39-27 on January 10, 1925. Team: Buono, Reichelderfer, Kreig, Riley, Magner.
"Inspection"
Colonel John J. Toffey fo the Office of Chief of Infantry, War Department, inspected PMC on January 24, 1925. Toffey inspected all college ROTC units in order to report the status to Chief of Infantry Major General Farnsworth. Toffey addressed the cadets about the purpose of ROTC prior to his inspection.
"City Beautiful"
Major Joseph W. Shirley, class of 1891, addressed the Junior and Senior engineers on February 6, 1925. He is Chief Topographic Engineer of the Topographic Survey Commission of Baltimore and told of the city's beautification process.
"Practice Game"
In a practice match, the PMC polo team defeated the 103rd Cavalry by a score of 15-4. Team: Newt Wyman, Alvin Burt, Wilson. Colonel Hyatt saw evidence of a faster team in the match.
