"Handsome Pool Presented to P.M.C. by Chas J. Webb"
Charles J. Webb announced on December 23, 1919 that he would donate a swimming pool to be placed in the new armory. Charles J. Webb & Company was Philadelphia's leading wool merchant. His three sons attended P.M.C.: Charles E. Webb, or "Ed," graduated in 1903 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry; Andrew F. Webb graduated in 1905 with a chemistry degree; and Herbert K. Webb withdrew during his junior year in 1909 to enter the family business.
"P.M.C. 1920 Squad Full of Promise Says Coach Pauxtis"
The article lists the 1920 football schedule. Campuzano, Lloyd, and Henry will return to make up the backfield. Crow will play center. Fried will be replaced by Mueller as right tackle. Sweeny will be replaced by Bryant at left tackle. Voskamp will leave his left end position to be replaced by Claus. Malinowski will be right guard, replacing Schilling. Maguire may be a guard; Lawshe is captain and will play right end.
"Lieut. Church Had Interesting Experience in Brazilian Jungles"
Lieutenant Earl Church, Associate Professor of Engineering, worked with Dr. Hamilton Rice's expedition in Brazil where he aided in mapping the Amazon and the Negro.

The P.M.C. basketball team defeated the Textile School of Philadelphia 42-26 on January 10, 1920. Players: Crow, Pool, Crothers, Voskamp, Campuzano.
"Lieut. Cowee Sees Future for Philadelphia in Air-Commerce"
Lieutenant Theodore H. Cowee, Air Service, is an instructor of aeronautics at P.M.C. He proposes steps that Philadelphia should take to invite air commerce.
"Position of Responsibility Given P.M.C. Graduate"
Major C.E. Myers, class of 1909, has been given responsibility of state highway work in Delaware, Montgomery, and Chester counties.
"P.M.C. Student Brings Message From Far-Away Bolivia"
Jose M. del Carpio is the nephew of former Circe-President del Carpio of the Republic of Bolivia. Jose del Carpio is taking a civil engineering course at P.M.C. He feels that the Germans are undermining American trade in Bolivia.
"Bayonet Instruction"
Lieutenants Campuzano and Pool are assigning the Military Department in its bayonet drill. Both men had served in the war effort.
"Basketball Season Gets Under Way at P.M.C."
D.E. Shull coaches the Sophomore Team. He is an instructor in the Junior School. Professor of English N. E. McClure will coach the Senior Team. Karl E. Agan, an English instructor, will coach the Junior Team. Frank C. Johnson, a Junior School instructor, will coach the Freshmen. Frank Griffin has been employed to work with the Varsity and second teams; he is the former coach for Swarthmore College. Varsity lineup: Pool, Trump, Crothers, Voskamp, Campuzano, Crow. Second team lineup: Brumby, Rosenbloom, Anders, Battin, Mehrer. Team schedule is given.

"Still in the Service"
Lieutenant Donald Fitzgerald, class of 1907, is still at Fort Bliss, Texas with the 104th Aero Squadron. Captain Raymond C. Ward, class of 1910, remains at Fort Storey, Fort Henry, Virginia. Harold V. Carson, class of 1916, is with the Engineer Corps in Poland. Gustave E. Warway, class of 1915, served with the Medical Corps and has re-enlisted. Albert F. Huntt, class of 1891, received a Master of Architecture by P.M.C. in 1912. [Note: The information about Albert Huntt in this issue of the P.M.C. News is incorrect. Huntt received a Bachelor in Architecture Degree from PMC in 1892.]
"P.M.C. Opens Swiftly; Two Faculty Changes"
P.M.C. opened for winter term on January 6, 1920 with high enrollment. Colonel Hyatt was present; Dean Wyman prepared a cadet schedule. Summerfield M. McCarteney, A.B., takes the place of Professor Horace R. Barnes as Professor of Economics. Elmer L. Hunting, B.S., takes the place of E.B. Miller as Assistant Professor of Mathematics.
