"Rathbone Directs Red Cross Insurance"
R. Chesbrough Rathbone, class of 1897, is Insurance Director of American Red Cross. Roland Rathbone, his brother and a P.M.C. graduate, is a driver for the American Ambulance.

William H. Blake, former Professor of English and Glee Club director writes from France.
"King George Decorates Ralston with the D.S.O. – Former Cadet, Canadian Hero, Now Brigadier General"
George H. Ralston, ex-cadet of 1882, was decorated with the Distinguished Service Order, conferred at Buckingham Palace.
"Corps' Efficiency is Tested by Government"
Lieutenant Charles Givins, Colonel Alfred Reynolds, and Captain Edward Brautigam inspected the corps on April 15, 1918. The corps passed.

Joseph A. Minturn returned to the service from civil life.

Lieutenant Allio F. Amodio writes. He is stationed in the same department as Lieutenant Keith B. Hubbard.

P.M.C. loses baseball game to Ursinus, 15-1, on April 24, 1918.
"Swarthmore Wins at Nets – Soldier Racquet Wielders Outplayed at Singles and Doubles"
Swarthmore beat P.M.C. in tennis matches. Tennis team: Cowee, Lawshe, Paige, Falkenhainer. Tennis manager is Lawrence M. Swift. The college has two new tennis courts.
"Memories Stirred of Salute to U.S. Grant"
_The Philadelphia Public Ledger_ recently mentioned a salute offered to General Ulysses S. Grant by P.M.C. during his tour of the world in 1877.
"Faculty Bows In Bitter Defeat"
A faculty-cadet baseball game was played on April 17, 1918. The cadets won, 19-4. Faculty players: Lieutenant Carson, Captain Brautigam, Mr. Stanley, Coach Pauxtis, Professor Strom, Professor McClure, Lieutenant Colonel Hyatt, Mr. Klingbeil, Dean Wyman. Davenport, Lupton, Davis pitched for cadets.

Doctor Charles J. Bushnell resigned for service. Professor Horace R. Barnes has taken his place.

Edmund Cramp married Florence Charlotte Hawker on April 22, 1918 in Fairmont, West Virginia. Lieutenant Colonel Frank B. Hyatt, Cramp's brother-in-law, acted as best man. Cramp left for service after five days' leave.
"War Wedding For 'Brod'"
Sergeant I.J. Brodsky married Hulda Jane Apt on April 27, 1918 at Beth Israel Temple, Philadelphia. Bride is cousin of Jerome Apt, Brodsky's P.M.C. classmate.
"Citizens' Corps in Liberty Parade"
The Chester Citizens' Corps, commanded by Captain James Henry, Jr., participated in a Liberty Parade in Chester on April 6, 1918. Colonel Frank G. Sweeney was Chief Marshall; Captain Edward Brautigam was an aide.
"Major Berry Over With First Troops"
Major Benjamin S. Berry, class of 1902, commands troops in France.
"Osborne Has Seen Real Service"
James G. Osborne served in France in 1918. After his service, he enlisted in the cavalry and trained at Fort Ethan Allen, Vermont.
